Deposits and payment
How payment works
- A 50 percent deposit holds your date on our calendar
- Wedding and quince cakes require the deposit at booking, with the balance due two weeks before the event
- Standard cake balances are due at pickup or before delivery
- We accept cash, debit, major credit cards and approved business invoicing
- No order is confirmed and no date is held until the deposit is received
- Florida sales tax applies where required
Deposits become non refundable once we have ordered specialty materials or begun production for your date, because that slot was closed to other customers. Full terms on our Order and Cancellation Policy page.
Getting more cake for the budget
- Buttercream instead of fondant saves meaningfully on labor
- Fresh flowers cost less than hand made sugar flowers
- Fewer tall tiers, more diameter, gives more servings per dollar
- A hidden kitchen sheet cake adds servings behind a smaller display cake
- One filling across all tiers instead of a different one per tier
- Pickup instead of delivery where the cake is a single tier
- Booking early avoids rush charges entirely
- Weekday events have more availability than peak Saturdays
Pricing questions
Before you call
Why is a custom cake more than a supermarket cake?
Different product entirely. A supermarket cake is made from mix at scale, frozen, and decorated from a pattern book. Ours is baked for your date from butter and fresh eggs, filled with fillings cooked in our kitchen, and decorated by hand for your event. Most of the price is labor, and hand work is the part you can taste and see.
Is the starting price what I will pay?
Only if you order exactly what the starting price covers, meaning a standard flavor, one filling and a plain buttercream finish. Any design work, premium filling or delivery adds to it. The add on table above shows the real numbers so nothing is a surprise.
Do you price by serving or by cake?
Single tier and two tier cakes are priced per cake. Wedding and quince cakes from three tiers up are priced per serving, which is standard in the industry and scales fairly with guest count.
Is there a minimum order?
Our smallest cake is the 6 inch round. For cupcakes the minimum is one dozen of a single flavor. Dessert tables and large event orders are quoted individually.
Do you charge for the tasting?
Wedding and quince tastings are $45, credited in full toward your order when you book with us. That covers the cost of baking sample cakes and the appointment time.
Can you work to a fixed budget?
Yes, and we prefer it. Tell us the number and the guest count and we will design something that fits properly rather than quoting a dream cake and watching you cut features one by one.
Let's talk about your cake
Tell us the date, the headcount and the occasion. We will come back with flavors, a design direction and a price.
