Order & Cancellation Policy
Deposits, lead times, changes, cancellations, refunds and what happens when something goes wrong.
Updated September 22, 2026
Custom cakes are made to order for a specific date. Once we hold a date for you, that slot is closed to other customers, and ingredients and materials are bought for your cake specifically. This policy reflects that reality and applies to every order.
1. Lead Times
- Standard single tier cakes: 72 hours minimum notice
- Custom design work: one to two weeks
- Wedding and quinceanera cakes: three to four weeks minimum
- Large dessert tables and corporate events: one to two weeks
- Peak Saturdays, holidays and graduation season book out considerably further
Meeting the minimum notice does not guarantee availability. The calendar is always confirmed first.
2. Placing An Order
- Submitting a form or sending a message is an inquiry, not an order.
- We confirm the date is available and send a written order with all details and the price.
- The order is confirmed and your date is held only once the deposit has been received.
- Please review the written order carefully. It is what we will bake.
3. Deposits
- A deposit of 50 percent is required to hold your date.
- Wedding and quince cakes require the deposit at booking, with the balance due two weeks before the event.
- Standard order balances are due at pickup or before delivery departs.
- We accept cash, debit, major credit cards and approved business invoicing.
- Florida sales tax applies where required.
4. Changes To An Order
- Minor design changes are usually possible up to seven days before the event.
- Changes to size, tier count, servings or flavor affect the price and may not be possible close to the date.
- Increases in size are subject to availability and will be re quoted.
- Decreases in size within seven days do not reduce the price, because the slot and materials are already committed.
- No changes of any kind can be made within 72 hours of the event, as production is already underway.
- All changes must be confirmed in writing to be valid.
5. Cancellations
- More than 14 days before the event: deposit refunded less a 15 percent administrative fee.
- 7 to 14 days before the event: deposit is retained, no further charge.
- Less than 7 days before the event: the full order amount is due, whether or not the cake is collected.
- Wedding and quince cakes cancelled within 30 days: deposit is retained. Within 14 days: full amount is due.
- Cancellations must be made by phone or email and are effective when we acknowledge them.
These terms exist because a Saturday slot turned down for you cannot be resold on short notice, and a custom cake cannot be sold to anyone else.
6. Rescheduling
Where our calendar allows, we would much rather move your date than cancel. One reschedule made more than 14 days out is accommodated at no charge, subject to availability. Rescheduling inside 14 days is treated as a cancellation and a new order, because materials are committed.
7. Late Or Missed Pickup
- Pickup times are scheduled and should be kept. Arriving late may mean waiting, as staffing and refrigeration are planned around the schedule.
- If you cannot make your pickup window, call us before it passes.
- Cakes not collected within 24 hours of the scheduled time, without contact, may be disposed of for food safety reasons with no refund.
8. Delivery Terms
- Delivery must be booked with the order and is quoted by distance.
- Someone must be present to receive the cake. We do not leave cakes unattended.
- The surface must be level, stable and out of direct sun and heat.
- A failed delivery caused by an incorrect address, no access or nobody present is charged in full and a re delivery is quoted separately.
- Once the cake is set up and accepted, responsibility passes to you or your venue.
9. If Something Is Wrong
We want to know, and we want to know quickly.
- Inspect your cake at pickup or at delivery, before we leave.
- Raise any concern about appearance at that moment, while we can still fix it.
- Report a quality concern within 24 hours, with photographs and as much of the cake remaining as possible.
- We cannot evaluate a complaint about a cake that has been fully consumed or discarded.
Where we made a genuine error against your written order, we will make it right through a remake, a partial refund or a full refund, depending on the circumstances. We do not issue refunds for matters of personal taste in flavor, for reasonable color and design variation inherent in handmade work, or for damage occurring after a cake left our care.
10. Our Own Cancellation
In the rare case that we cannot fulfill an order because of equipment failure, illness, severe weather or another event beyond our control, we will notify you as early as possible, refund every amount paid in full, and where we can, help you find another bakery for your date.
11. Tastings
Wedding and quince tastings are scheduled by appointment and carry a $45 fee, credited in full toward your order when you book with us. Tasting appointments missed without 24 hours notice are not credited.
